Tile and tile installation materials are often available within 500 miles of jobsites in North America. The use of these products, which have been extracted and manufactured indigenously, greatly reduces the emissions and fuel consumption associated with their transportation, and thus the overall environmental footprint of a building. To satisfy the requirements of LEED® MR Credit 3, the use of regionally available tile products can also directly contribute towards the overall indigenous building product requirements of 10% (1 point) or 20% (2 points).
